The construction, installations and works tax (ICIO) is 4% of the actual cost of the work, excluding VAT and fees. For a €4,000 renovation, that's €160. It is set by Matadepera Town Council's tax ordinance 2.5 (in Catalan), in force since 1 January 2025.
The same ordinance reduces the ICIO by 90% for work that improves access and living conditions for people with disabilities, provided it isn't required by law. You need to prove the recognised disability of at least one person registered as living at the property and apply for it together with the prior notification or the licence. In the example above, the tax would drop from €160 to €16.
